ADClip2 is a universal binary Audio Unit plugin, bringing together everything learned in the original ADClip and 3DClip plus new functionality for the best possible final-clipping plugin.

It works by tracking what samples have clipped, and pulling back the onset and release samples that would have clipped, to transition between the two states more gracefully. ADClip2 also tracks what information is lost to clipping, and brings it back in two ways- as high frequency energy and bass fill. This is only present when clipping occurs (or briefly after it) and can be turned off, or cranked up for effect.

Edge Smooth controls how the onset and release samples are affected- turn it up to alter how high frequencies interact with clipping, and to soften the edges of larger clips. Highs Restore and Lows Restore are from 3DClip, set for subtlety by default- for a more strict interpretation of analog ADC clipping, set them to zero and they turn off.

ADClip2 goes farther than I've ever gone to maintain the purity of the unclipped portions of the signal. Big chunks of it literally turn off when not in use- it does not even do needless math operations to avoid unwanted floating-point rounding. Since even its bass fill operations are very quickly completed, that means ADClip2 is constantly reverting to the most simple, untouched floating-point digital passthrough, giving it an unusually transparent digital-domain sound. It's overkill, but it works and is what's needed for mastering.

ADClip2 is $49.99.

Try the demo of this to see if it'll work for you! You're not allowed to use the demo for actual work. It politely mutes itself briefly every couple minutes, and that's the only thing it does to spite you. It won't expire or do anything to you, and when you get the actual plugin, throw away the demo and put the real version in its place and most software should replace saved instances of the demo with the real thing seamlessly, retaining any settings. Please support my cooperative, unhostile demos with sales of the real software.
