Airwindows is one guy: me! I am an audio hacker and computer programmer from way back. I seek only to continue my life up here in Vermont, inventing things and putting them onto the internet, sometimes for free and sometimes for pay. My hope is that people richer than me (i.e. most people) don't rob me. My other hope is for another cup of Aeropress. One out of two ain't bad!

BussColors 4

TL;DW: The Airwindows console emulations, now working up to 192K correctly. BussColors4 I’m very pleased to bring you the latest version of BussColors :) This plugin’s a pretty huge deal: it’s been around since before console emulations were a thing, and I’ve been steadily working on it year after year. There’s not been much to […]

Iron Oxide Classic

TL;DW: Old school tape emulation, extra pure and free of grunge. Iron Oxide Classic As promised, here is the 2017-ized version of the pure, sweet, original Iron Oxide. No more grit or tape flutter or noise! It’s funny how this works. If you’re a commercial developer, and you release a plugin that’s real popular, one […]

Iron Oxide 5

TL;DW: The old school, heavily colored Airwindows tape emulation. IronOxide5 (there is a build of the initial version available: IronOxideInitial5 is the first version, before I added the noise level control. I’m providing it in case people need it for special circumstances, but you should NOT have it and the full Iron Oxide 5 installed […]

TubeDesk

TL:DW; A tube recording console type tone coloring. TubeDesk More classic Airwindows analog modeling with TubeDesk! Tubes aren’t necessarily ‘mellow’. They’re also known for clarity, realism. TubeDesk isn’t a mud-ifier, but it might bring you some effects reminiscent of vintage recordings. Like the other Desk plugins, it’s got a kind of saturation going on, a […]

TransDesk

TL:DW; More of a transistory, rock desk tone coloring. TransDesk Continue the look into classic Airwindows analog modeling with TransDesk! There’s a famous analog console known for rock mixes. It might not have the preamplifiers to hang with the APIs and Neves of the world, but it’s been a watchword for mixdowns, both for the […]

Desk

TL:DW; Classic Airwindows subtle analog modeling. Desk Now that we’re done for now with dithers (though the contest to name my best wordlength reducer ever is still going, and will run until February 1 when that one’s made public) it’s time to get into something more interesting. Namely, the canonical version of Airwindows Desk, brought […]

Console4

Console 4 is the most recent version of basically my flagship Airwindows plugin. It works through a channel plugin on every sound source, feeding at unity gain into the buss plugin which overrides the digital summing with Airwindows summing (more internal space, more depth, and with Console 4 it now has glue making the top-end […]

ADClip6

ADClip6Demo is a universal binary Audio Unit plugin for loudness maximization. While it can be used for clean peak-clipping, and is great for that, if the words ‘competitive loudness’ make you sad, stop reading now. Still here? OK. Here’s the deal: ADClip was already one of the most formidable weapons for loudness. The last version, […]

ADClip5

ADClip5Demo is a universal binary Audio Unit plugin for loudness maximization. Bear in mind that CDs and Loudness War are going out of date and you don’t necessarily want loudness maximization anymore! I’ve made several versions of Righteous for aiming a mix/mastering at targets like YouTube or anywhere that applies replay gain. Though ADClip is […]

Righteous3

Righteous3Demo is a universal binary Audio Unit plugin for the 2-buss, and it is the first and only plugin that can do loudness maximization on YouTube AFTER they put in their ‘replay gain’ function. And it does it perfectly honest and legit, too, by delivering what Google wants: but optimized. It was originally designed to […]
