Point is a transient designer AU universal binary plugin. It has an input trim, works to enhance or restrict transients, and has a wide range of reaction speeds. It can produce gatelike effects or flatten snares into sustainy hugeness. Very flexible. Point is
$39.99.
If you're trying to make huge-drum, hair-metal sounds set Point all the way to negative one, and use a very very slow speed that's almost all the way to the left. It's touchy to set, you have to dial in the correct 'bloom' on the snare without letting the attack transient poke out too much, and that's all in the speed setting alone. But it's well worth it.
Try the demo of this by
downloading the demo collection! You're not allowed to use the demo for actual work. It politely mutes itself briefly every couple minutes, and that's the only thing it does to spite you. It won't expire or do anything to you, and when you get the actual plugin, throw away the demo and put the real version in its place and most software should replace saved instances of the demo with the real thing seamlessly, retaining any settings. Please support my cooperative, unhostile demos with sales of the real software.
