Scalpel is a universal binary AU plugin for peak and notch filtering. It has three bands, each with the same convolution modeling of Reso, but unlike Reso it behaves like a normal EQ for discrete boosts/cuts. Scalpel passes bit-identical output if zeroed. Scalpel is $59.99.

Note that because of the specialized 'surgical' nature of Scalpel, you're not supposed to be able to hear it being there. It's the opposite of the 'plastic wrapped' style of very flexible digital EQ- Scalpel can isolate or remove extremely focussed areas of sound, but it shouldn't sound like you did anything. Compare the examples again, even on mp3 there should be a marked difference but it'll sound like the mix was altered, not EQed. The only change was application of Scalpel in the places I described.

Scalpel uses a synthetic convolution impulse created on the fly, designed after things I was able to work out studying examples of the convolution impulses of Manley Massive Passive EQ settings. So it's a digitally transparent, mathematically perfect version of lush-analog-EQ behaviors.

Try the demo of this by downloading the demo collection! You're not allowed to use the demo for actual work. It politely mutes itself briefly every couple minutes, and that's the only thing it does to spite you. It won't expire or do anything to you, and when you get the actual plugin, throw away the demo and put the real version in its place and most software should replace saved instances of the demo with the real thing seamlessly, retaining any settings. Please support my cooperative, unhostile demos with sales of the real software.
