Airwindows is one guy: me! I am an audio hacker and computer programmer from way back. I seek only to continue my life up here in Vermont, inventing things and putting them onto the internet, sometimes for free and sometimes for pay. My hope is that people richer than me (i.e. most people) don't rob me. My other hope is for another cup of Aeropress. One out of two ain't bad!

ADClip4Demo is a universal binary Audio Unit plugin, bringing together everything learned in the original ADClip and 3DClip plus new functionality for the best possible final-clipping plugin. It works by tracking what samples have clipped, and pulling back the onset and release samples that would have clipped, to transition between the two states more gracefully. ADClip […]

ADClip2Demo was an experiment, to see how ADClip would be if it had loads of parameters you could alter. Input Gain was a boost, as you’d expect. Edge Smooth is part of the basic ADClip code. It’s letting you scale back the edge softening on clipping: less means harsher edges. Highs Restore is from 3DClip, and […]

Clip2 is a lot like Clip, except the antialiasing was tweaked a bit and there’s a slider. The slider lets you set a threshold, because I had a user who asked for the ability to bring the clip threshold down that way. One result is, you can teach yourself about peak versus RMS energy using Clip2. […]

Clip is antialiased, Airwindows-ized hard safety clipping, nothing more. This is basically the bare-bones freebie loudenator: the simplest, cleanest, loudest of them all. It’s got a touch of the ADClip mojo helping it keep treble from glaring under stress, but none of the fancy bypassing or 3DClip elements that ADClip adopted. This is for you if […]

The original ADClip was invented to deal with an issue with clipping: you get a hard, fatiguing sound. Soft clipping reduces this problem, but makes things sound more trashy and grungey. What ADClip did to fix this was, keeping track of the surroundings of a clipped sample. If it’s in the middle of a batch […]

If you’re pledging the equivalent of this per year, I’ll happily link you on the sidebar, including a link to your music or project! Quite a few people see this page, and they see it while they’re getting free stuff, so they ought to be favorably disposed to anyone here!
