Chris

Airwindows is one guy: me! I am an audio hacker and computer programmer from way back. I seek only to continue my life up here in Vermont, inventing things and putting them onto the internet, sometimes for free and sometimes for pay. My hope is that people richer than me (i.e. most people) don't rob me. My other hope is for another cup of Aeropress. One out of two ain't bad!

DeEss3

DeEss3Demo is the latest DeEss: returning to the unrivalled sound of the first classic Airwindows DeEss, but with 80-bit internal math and a new Sense Monitoring switch, by request! This is the ultimate De-Esser, now with new ease of use and deeper tone. This plugin’s made a lot of interesting friends… very competitive, significant friends […]

Clicks

Clicks is a different sort of ’32 Bar And Grill’ product. This time instead of doing a variety of tracks from a single production at a set tempo, this is a broad range of tempos on a single theme! That theme is ‘electronic dance music click track’. I think producing music of all sorts will […]

Clip2

Clip2 is a lot like Clip, except the antialiasing was tweaked a bit and there’s a slider. The slider lets you set a threshold, because I had a user who asked for the ability to bring the clip threshold down that way. One result is, you can teach yourself about peak versus RMS energy using Clip2. […]

SubsOnly

SubsOnly is a utility plugin to use with Voxengo SPAN, in Density Mode. That will give you the best ‘VU style’, sense-the-loudness-of-the-track, metering, and when you put one of these utilities in front of SPAN, it’s calibrated so equal levels will give you appropriate amounts of extreme subs. If the levels are out of whack, your balances […]

SlewOnly

SlewOnly is a utility plugin to use with Voxengo SPAN, in Density Mode. That will give you the best ‘VU style’, sense-the-loudness-of-the-track, metering, and when you put one of these utilities in front of SPAN, it’s calibrated so equal levels will give you appropriate amounts of extreme highs. If the levels are out of whack, your balances […]

DCOffset

DCOffset is for when you have DC content screwing up your sound. It’s a 26-pole IIR highpass filter, very simple, and another handy utility plugin.

PhaseNudge

PhaseNudge is a free allpass for phase rotation, such as matching dissimilar mics or adjusting the upfrontness of a track. Higher values rotate the attack farther back behind the body of the sound.  An allpass filter is a part of many reverb algorithms. It’s like a little delay widget set a certain way, that will pass […]

Clip

Clip is antialiased, Airwindows-ized hard safety clipping, nothing more. This is basically the bare-bones freebie loudenator: the simplest, cleanest, loudest of them all. It’s got a touch of the ADClip mojo helping it keep treble from glaring under stress, but none of the fancy bypassing or 3DClip elements that ADClip adopted. This is for you if […]

DitherTo

DitherTo exists because dither’s not exactly a huge market segment, yet it’s important to getting digital tone with depth and spatiality. For that reason, I’ve picked two dithers out of what’s shipped with Ditherbox, and you can have top-quality boutique dither for free. You just can’t select whichever one you like, or switch to monitoring modes […]

Golem

GolemDemo is a utility plugin for use with heavy guitar miking, when you have two mics on a stereo track but need to sum them to mono, balance them, and adjust relative phase. Includes a phase switch for tuning phase through cancellation. The name comes from the Sneap metal recording forum, where they call this type […]
