Chris

Hi! I've got a new plugin you can have! These plugins come in Mac AU, and Mac, Windows and Linux VST. They are state of the art sound, have no DRM, and have totally minimal generic interface so you focus on your sounds.

Clip

Clip is antialiased, Airwindows-ized hard safety clipping, nothing more. This is basically the bare-bones freebie loudenator: the simplest, cleanest, loudest of them all. It’s got a touch of the ADClip mojo helping it keep treble from glaring under stress, but none of the fancy bypassing or 3DClip elements that ADClip adopted.

This is for you if you need to use Airwindows stuff and you’re broke. Stick this on the end of your mix buss, with DitherTo after it, and mix good and loud into it. It will stop overs, that’s what it’s for, and the treble won’t be too glare-y compared to straight digital clipping. None of the fancy Airwindows stuff can really go louder than this, they just sound better while trying. Sell the resulting music to record execs or something, and save up to buy the real Airwindows plugs. (but this is still real, it’s just real crude ;) )

Hard Vacuum

HardVacuumDemo is a vacuum tube AU universal binary plugin. It features very smooth overdrive, warmth for asymmetrical clipping, and an Aura control unavailable anywhere else.

The Drive control gives you the basic tube saturation. Warmth doctors how that saturation is applied—and Aura is something a little special. It takes the angle of the waveform and alters it, to produce tubelike characteristics beyond what just working on individual samples will do. Aura was the best way I could describe the result.

Hard Vacuum is $50.

Hombre

Out by the tumbleweeds of Texas there’s a mysterious Airwindows plugin that was created to bring a little added juice to guitars.

It’s got two controls (Voicing and Intensity) and swaggers down the road without revealing its terrifying secrets to man, horse or coyote.

Some say it brings a little extra ambience to things in a way you wouldn’t expect. Almost as if it was… magic.

(Others say it was nothing more than a carefully balanced set of delay taps both normal and inverse, to fatten up things without bloating the low-end with too much reinforcement.)

Nobody will ever know, for the plugin dried up and blew away many years ago.

(if you want Hombre, buy the current version of ADT which is pret-near the same thing with more flexibility, and ask for the varmint in email, I’ll send it)

Loud

Loud was an experiment based on studying audio of German tractor pulls off YouTube :)

The idea was, figure out behaviors of air under such extreme conditions and algorithmically model it. I worked out that air ran into certain limitations when compressed that hard, and coded up something to model this, and that’s Loud. It turns out not to be that great as a loudness-maximizer, but it’s a different type of sound effect in the ‘distortion’ vein.

If you’d like to get Loud, buy any Airwindows plugin for making stuff louder or handling overs (NC-17, ADClip, whatever) and ask me for Loud in email :)
